I had the oddest experience this past weekend. It was my mom's birthday party and I went with my sister to get some crickets for the lizard my nephew won at the fair. It was a grand opening and there was a lady out there that pet sits. I was wearing my author shirt and she had mentioned that she wrote. We chatted a bit and she asked me what I wrote. I said that wrote a little bit of everything, but what I had published was my Abby the Labby series. “Oh I have heard of that series! I love it! The one with the black lab, right!” I didn't know this chick so it was a little thrown. Then she asked for my autograph and was excited Abby 2 was coming out. Then my mom kept introducing me to people like this, “And this is my daughter, Ashley, the author.” She was so cute about it. I think she might be slightly proud.
So I have a little bit of a breather before things pick up again. We are going to a Comic Con in Richmond on the 29th of this month. My September has filled up completely. Sorry, guys, I have no weekends free in September. So during the lull I'm going to be cross stitching.
Oh yeah, about that. I seemed to have picked up a new hobby. I cross stitch now. Cross stitching is cool.
There isn't much more to report. I'll be sitting here melting as summer does its (hopefully) last heatwave. I'm so ready for fall.
Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana?
Yes. That is the real title.
