![]() Today was a day for the San Francisco Batkid aka 5-year old Miles Scott. Miles has leukemia and his wish was the be Batman for the day. So the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the ENTIRE city of San Fran, banded together to make his wish come true. My heart completely melted. I have to give major kudos to MAWF and the city because this was spectacular. Someone loaned a Lamborghini and slapped a Batman decal on it so he could fight crime in his own batmobile. A guy dressed in a Batman suit took him around from place to place to "save" people and fight the Riddler and the Penguin. The police Chief made a call and asked for his help. They made a newspaper saying that he saved Gotham City. Even the President sent him a message telling him what a good job he did saving Gotham. Could your heart melt anymore? You know, with all the negative crap going on in the world at the moment, it is nice to be able to have this breath of fresh air. If gives you a good feeling when you see people come together to grant a dying boy's wish. It also makes me sad that we can't come together like this to take care of our country and our citizens. It didn't matter what race, gender, religious preference, or sexual orientation anyone was during this. The supporters didn't section themselves to avoid other groups. No. They banded together, as one, to support a little boy. Same thing happened in 2001 in New York. It didn't matter who you loved, or what you worshiped, the entire city came together to help and support each other. Something to think about. All in all, my heart is swollen with happiness because of this and some of my faith in humanity is restored. I'm glad this little boy got his day. It is something he will always remember and a memory his parents will treasure in the future. I would also like to point out that only 4% of the funding of cancer research goes to researching childhood cancers. That needs to change. Do you part and donate if you can. Also, I DO NOT own any of the photos below. I got them off of yahoo. Give credit where credit is due.
